Welcome to Barasat Government College

Barasat Government College belongs to a cluster of colleges under the direct administration of the Higher Education Department of the Government of West Bengal. It is funded by the Department and both the faculty and other staff are drawn from respective government services. Its affiliation has been transferred to the West Bengal State University from the University of Calcutta. The college is situated in Barasat, headquarters of the North Twenty Four Paraganas district in the state of West Bengal, well connected to the rest of the state both by road and rail.

Notice regarding Admission 2014-15 

Candidates who have applied in more than One subject in Online method, are instructed to make photocopies of the Online Form. The Online Form(s) will be retained by Candidate and has to be produced at the time of Counselling/Admission.
All Original Documents will be verified during Counselling and application is liable to be CANCELLED if statements in the Online Form are found to be incorrect.
Only limited seats will be reserved for 'OBC-A' and 'OBC-B' candidates in this academic year, as such seats are to be increased in a staggered manner over a period of six years, as per extant Govt. directives.
SC/OBC candidates must be ordinarily residents of West Bengal in order to avail the benefit of reservation. To avoid any unnecessary hassles during admission process, such Candidates are advised to procure 'DOMICILE CERTIFICATE' in prescribed format from concerned authorities.
